Running in Brussels

On my most recent visit to Brussels, I stayed in the European quarter, which contains the European Commission headquarters. One of the biggest parks in the city, the Parc du Cinquantenaire, is in this district.

A run all the way around the park is about 2 km (1.2 miles). It’s a flat route, mostly dirt and shaded on much of the route regardless of time of day. The path stays close to the fence surrounding the park. There are two spots where you have to run on the sidewalk: on the southern side of the park, you have to go about 200 meters on sidewalk to go around the Art and History Museum and on the northern side for maybe 100 meters to go around the Institut Royal du Patrimoine Artistique.
